Letter from Pastor Randy

Family and Friends of Holy Cross,

As we continue in the joy of our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we have even more to celebrate at Holy Cross! On Sunday, May 4th we have one confirmand who will be receiving first communion!

Adam Pionessa

We not only celebrate Adam’s presence at Holy Cross, but we celebrate the significance of this day in his walk with the Lord:

1) He will make a personal and public profession of his faith in Jesus Christ. This is not his parent’s faith, his pastor’s faith, or his church’s faith; it’s Adam’s own faith in Jesus. Adam is publicly putting a voice to the faith that the Holy Spirit gave him in the waters of Holy Baptism. As Jesus says in Matthew 10:32-33, “Whoever acknowledges Me before men, I will also acknowledge him before My Father in heaven. But whoever disowns Me before men, I will disown him before My Father in heaven.”

2) Adam will make the lifelong pledge to cling to Jesus no matter what—even if he must physically lose his life for Jesus’ sake! Is there any more important and monumental promise in life? And Jesus promises him and all Christians in Revelation 2:10, “Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.”

Confirmation Sunday is May 4th at 11:00AM worship! A cake reception for Adam will follow in Krampitz Hall.

Celebrate his commitment to Christ. Renew your own commitment to Christ. And let us keep following Jesus no matter what, for He alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

In Jesus,
